How to Make Lifestyle Changes Like a Boss

How to Make Lifestyle Changes Like a Boss

Transition is hard! Boy...Let me tell you! Living in Chicago is very different than the South. I miss my Southern friends and family members. And seeing a Bojangles on every corner. Oooo! And a CookOut milkshakes. *tears* Lol. quite honest, ever since I've stepped into the state of Illinois, I have been pushed and challenge like never before.

God has revealed to me that I became complacent in my comfort zone. I allowed myself to embrace my insecurities. I toyed with my fears. I gloried my issues with low self-esteem and comparison. Being in a state of comfort caused me to go about my regular day, as I normally would, without the urge to change the issues lurking behind the scenes. I don't know about you, but I needed to move. It was hard leaving the state I grew up in as a child, but sometimes the hardest transitions paves way for the greatest changes. Like a diamond, the hard journey of beating and pounding caused it to evolve into a strong piece of simmering beauty.

I don't know about you, but sometimes holding onto the atmospheres that make you feel comfortable hold you back from who you were meant to become. Did you know that were never meant to stay in a stagnant place in your life?! God does expose you to people and environments to push you. The pressures of the people and environments were meant to influence change mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. If you stay in a place you weren't meant to be in...will only cause the ultimate plan to be pushed back. You can hinder your grow and your journey to greatness.

Yes, change is hard. But...the place you're in now can't even compare to the place where God will take you, if you just let go and follow Him. Be still. Listen. And follow His lead. Trust me...that's better said then done, especially if you are a planner like me. I have had to learn various hard lessons of learning to trust in God. And have faith in His will. Performing what I believe is right all the time will only put me in place that will cause mourning, mistakes, and constants prayers of forgiveness.

Learn to be still. And embrace your journey of change with God by...

Like a diamond, the hard journey of beating and pounding caused it to evolve into a strong piece of simmering beauty.

Get Out of Your Head!

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the thoughts running through your head were meant to distract you on purpose. Your mind is like a lethal drug. It will latch onto the things that clouds your mind with negativity. Those thoughts running through your mind are tactics used by the enemy to tear you down from the inside out.

I don't know about you, but as a teenager my insecurities were all over the place. I allowed my thoughts to cause more pain in my life by allowing the wrong type of boys into my heart. The boys that entered my life used me, abused me, and toyed with my emotions like a toy.  You want to know what's even more sickening?! I allowed them to mistreat me, because my thoughts told me that I wasn't valuable enough to have a someone who would treat me better. I truly encourage you to get the negative thoughts out of your head telling you the opposite of who you are. You are worth more than you could ever imagine. Remember that...

Let Go of Fear.

As I say this to you, I am also speaking to myself. Stop allowing fear to hold you back. Don't worry about what people will say about you. Or if no one will accept you. You weren't meant to be accepted by all. Look at Jesus...they hated him and sentenced Him to a sinner's death. Let go of the things you can't control. You won't embrace the new challenges, if you always have a fear of disappointments.

Stop Planning. And Just Live!

It's just that simple. Stop making plans! Learn to live and love life! You have been given the chance to take a new breath of life. I have been on my death bed too many times to count and I am going to live a life full of joy. And I encourage you to do the same. Satan wants to take away your new found joy in life and you can't let him.

Last, But Not Least...Share Your Story. And Encourage Others!

Why not share your story?! Tell others your amazing story. You will never know how your story can help encourage someone who is going through what you have been through. Be a blessing onto others. You were created for a reason. Shed light into the lives of others.
