Overly excited, the young woman strolled in the Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue taking in the beauty counters, make-up artists, estheticians, and Francois Nars, like a kid in the candy store. She had never anticipated being more excited for this event than her cousin...the self-taught MUA. On this day, she desired to learn more about beauty and makeup. Her inner girl has always wanted to burst out of its confined box and into the world, like a rush of wind, but she always found a way to push her away. Today, she was going to open the door to the gate and never close it again.
These types of events were new to this young woman. When she received a newsletter from NARS announcing that the founder would be coming into town, she figured it would be a great event for her cousin to network and spread her wings. She didn't think much of it when she made the reservations for two. But...she knew it would be enlightening for her.
After passing the makeup counters, she made her way to the location where she would need to indicate her arrival. Okay...Enough of the storytelling! Let me get real for a moment. Can you believe that I had signed myself up for a makeover?! Lol. I didn't even realize it! That's the funny part. But...to be honest, I'm kind of glad I did. I was introduced to some of my FAVORITE everyday makeup products. Let me tell you! The NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is Bae!
I don't beat my face often, but I will wear an everyday look to enhance my inner beauty. Nothing is wrong with that, right?! I love that I am stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself to love ME. Okay...don't get it twisted. I'm not an expert, but here's what I do to accomplish my everyday look.
STEP 1: PRIMER AND MOISTURE
After washing my face, I always use a facial moisturizer to put moisture back into my skin. When my facial moisturizer seeps into my pores, I use the NARS Pore & Shine Control Primer. This is a sample that I received, but I am in LOVE. I have placed this product on my "Must Haves" list. Okay...you will learn this about me if you stick around. But...I'm weird. Before I put any makeup on my face, I have to moisturize my lips with EOS. I love this lip balm! It has been on my "Favorites" list for years. Besides your eyes, I believe that your lips are a focal point. I can't let people see me walking around with chapped lips. Chapped lips ain't cute! We gotta give them love before the everything else.
STEP 2: TINTED MOISTURIZER
Using a dollop of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, I apply this to my face with my fingers. When I use my fingers, I am able to warm this product against my skin and spread it evenly on my face.
STEP 3: HIGHLIGHT AND CONTOUR
This part is crucial for me because it provides the right amount of life to my under eyes circles. They have been on the struggle bus lately. Lol. Using my L.A. Girl Pro Conceal, I use the color Fawn to brighten under my eyes and the color expresso to outline and lightly sculpt my face. After highlight and contouring with the concealer, I use my e.l.f Bronzer Palette to set the L.A. Girl Pro Concealer in Expresso.
STEP 4: SET AND ILLUMINATE
I have learned that I have combination skin. Some parts of my face are dry and some parts can be oily. My Loreal True Match Super Blendable Powder has been coming through with setting my NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. After setting with powder, I have to enhance my inner light (wink wink), by adding a bit of Loreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator along my cheekbones.
STEP 5: FINISH THE LOOK
I finish my everyday look by filling in my eyebrows with Milani Easy Brow Automatic Pencil in Natural Taupe. Can't be walking around with a bomb face with jacked up eyebrows. I'm learning, ya'll! Lol. Your girl was walking around looking all-kinds-of-rough before my makeup tutorial. After my eyebrows, I use Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner to line my upper and bottom lash lines. I complete the look by applying Loreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara to my lashes. Sometimes...if I feel jazzy I will add a pop of color to my lips but usually I have been wearing my EOS.
